About My Kitchendom
My Kitchendom is going to be a collaborative effort – you might have read about Tessa and Grandpa Eddie HERE, and you’ll get to know them more as we grow our little My Kitchendom website. (I’ll make sure to update this page once I get the thumbs up from those two – they’re not particularly excited about this part, the getting themselves out there part. However, they both feel excited about sharing ideas and know-how as well. Needless to say, they’re going to be a part of this website.)
Through My Kitchendom, we intend to share kitchen tips, kitchen hacks, or whatever kitchen-related stuff that we’ve learned over the years. To be honest, speaking for myself, whatever I know as a homemaker and a home cook, I thought was just ‘normal’ things – I thought everybody knows the same thing. I guess growing up in a household where parents did give children household chores even at a young age really pays off. (Boy, I would love to discuss that, too – one of these days for sure!)
I must admit, I do have an obsession when it comes to organization – be it organization ideas for the bedroom, the living room, the garden, and especially so – for the kitchen. I just love seeing things in order. I mean for the kitchen alone, with so many kitchen tools, kitchen gadgets, kitchen supplies, and kitchen appliances – this area of your house can easily turn into a ‘jungle’ if you’re not keen on organizing stuff.
I also love to keep things clean. Not obsessively clean but I guess, again, I just want to see some sort of orderliness in place. I’d be fine if there’s a ‘mess’ as long as it’s still in order – so perhaps a controlled mess? (I know, sounds weird, right? But yes, I’m cool with it as long as I know to what extent the mess really goes.)
In fact, one pet peeve of mine – messy floors! Yes, I know! Don’t judge me please, but it really bothers me if I can feel something on the floor – even when I’m wearing house slippers I can tell if the floor is dusty, grainy, sticky, or whatever. So through My Kitchendom, I also intend to share cleaning tips or cleaning hacks on how to maintain the house ‘clean’ enough that you don’t end up hating spending time in it – especially the kitchen.
And lastly, I do love shopping, too – mostly house stuff, particularly for the kitchen (I know! What can I do, I really love my kitchen!). But like most, I also want to make sure that whatever it is – it’s worth the price, it’s really useful, I really need it, and it fits my kitchen. So, I will also share kitchen finds, or whatever the latest kitchen accessories or kitchen decor I come across.
Tessa and Grandpa Eddie surely have a lot to say, too! From decluttering tips to growing food tips – as I mentioned above, this is going to be a collaborative effort. And these two are never short for words, so watch out for them, too. (I can already hear them arguing over who’s going to go first – insert me eye-rolling but secretly smiling inside, lol!)
xoxo
